PIXELSCOPE PRIVACY POLICY
This policy explains how Tansontech ("we" or "us") processes personal data when providing PixelScope, licensing, free trials, the website, and support.
1. Data we process
• License and device: License ID, Activation ID, anonymous installation ID, trial request ID, license status, hashed device fingerprint, machine name, software version, operating system, and activation/validation time.
• Online status: Session ID, start/end time, latest heartbeat, status, and duration. Online licenses send session heartbeats at the interval returned by the server, currently 120 seconds by default.
• Validation and security logs: activation, validation, and deactivation action/result, failure reason, IP address, User-Agent, and time.
• Approximate IP location: when a trial or license is first activated, we may use a server-local IP geolocation database to infer country/region, first-level subdivision, and city, and record the lookup time and an accuracy radius if the database provides one. Results may be inaccurate for mobile networks, corporate gateways, VPNs, or proxies and cannot identify a street, household, or precise location. Lookup occurs locally on our server; the IP address is not sent to an online geolocation service for this purpose. IP geolocation data is provided by DB-IP City Lite (https://db-ip.com, CC BY 4.0).
• Crash reports: exception type, message, stack trace, thread, software version, system, .NET runtime, memory statistics, and device/license identifiers. Following an unhandled exception, the current version automatically stores and attempts to upload a report.
• Information you provide: name, organization, email, WeChat identifiers, intended use, order, communication, and support records.
• Website visits: page, time, referrer, browser/device information, IP address, and aggregate analytics.
Crash reporting does not intentionally upload the content of images you open. Reports redact common user names and source paths, but exception text may unexpectedly include a file name or path; avoid placing confidential information in them.
2. Purposes
We process data to perform the license contract, activate and validate licenses, enforce device and offline limits, provide trials and support, maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose crashes, improve reliability, and comply with law. Without data necessary for validation, PixelScope may be unable to activate or continue operating.
3. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Necessary data may be processed by hosting, network, email, backup, analytics, payment, or professional-service providers, or disclosed where required by law. We require service providers to use reasonable safeguards.
4. Retention
Validation logs, deactivation logs, crash reports, and ended sessions are retained for 180 days by default and then routinely deleted, unless security, dispute, or legal needs require longer. License, activation, customer, order, trial, and support records are retained while the license and customer-service relationship remains active. After that relationship ends, necessary records are retained for after-sales support, financial, security, and dispute-resolution needs, and are deleted or anonymized when that period ends. A pending crash report remains on the device until uploaded or deleted.
5. Security
We use HTTPS, signed tokens, access control, administrator authentication, rate limiting, and backups. The local license cache uses Windows data protection. No system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, a copy, correction, deletion, or an explanation. Processing necessary to perform the license contract, maintain security, or comply with law cannot be stopped by withdrawing consent. Where optional processing is expressly based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. We may verify identity, and some transaction, security, or license records may need to be retained for contractual or legal reasons.
Send requests to support@tansontech.com and provide the email address used to request or purchase the license. If available, you may also provide the Machine ID. Do not send the full License Key.
7. Children and changes
PixelScope is intended for professionals and organizations and is not directed to children under 14. Material policy changes will be notified through the website, software, or another reasonable channel.
